We cannot wait to see you in Kansas City beginning on Sunday! Our Conference Planning Team has put a lot of time and thought into creating a professional development opportunity that will be beneficial to not only higher education professionals, but also to the institutions in our region.

Conference Kick Off

Plan on joining us for our Conference Kick Off on Sunday evening from 7pm-10pm. Not only will this event include networking and socializing, but also is the start of our silent auction. Come to check out the great items available for the silent auction and get your bids in early! Hors d’oeuvres, beer, and wine will be available at this event as well.

Additional information:

This event takes place at Rockhurst University – an institution very close to the Kauffman Conference Center. You can find Rockhurst University at 1100 Rockhurst Road, Kansas City, MO 64110. The event will take place on the first floor of Massman Hall in the Massman Gallery – we encourage you to enter the building through the quad. On the map included Massman Hall is #16. Please also look for yard signs with our 2018 ACPA Midwest Conference logo directing you where to go. Parking at the institution is free and we encourage you to park in a lot closest to Massman Hall. These lots include De Smet (lot F), Ricci (lot M), Bellarmine (lot A), and Brown (lot C).

Please note: The conference will be at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center on Monday and Tuesday. You can find the conference center at: 4801 Rockhill Road, Kansas City, MO 64110. Parking at the location is free.

Make sure you download the Guidebook app from the Apple or Google Play store and find our conference at: ACPA Midwest Conference Guide. You will be able to look at our schedule – including educational sessions – in order to plan your time while at the conference.

Dinner Groups

We are providing opportunities for attendees to sign up for dinner groups on Sunday and Monday. We hope you will consider joining colleagues from across the region to network and enjoy food from the Plaza Country Club neighborhood, located adjacent to our conference location site.

Graduate Students

Don’t forget about all the great things our conference offers for our graduate students!

·         Case Study Competition (Sponsored by the University of Missouri, Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis) – team captains should have received an email yesterday. If you did not, please contact Corey Rumann at [email protected].

·         Graduate Student Social (Sponsored by University of Nebraska, Department of Educational Administration) – join us at Tomfooleries for a graduate student social on Monday at 7pm. You’ll receive the opportunity to network with other graduate students and higher education professionals to gain advice and chat in a relaxed setting. Light hors d’oeuvres will be provided. Professionals are invited too – come out to mix and mingle!

·         Be on the lookout in our conference schedule for our graduate student track. You are not obligated to attend these sessions but may find them beneficial as a beginning professional.
